Winterizing outboard Johnson 25 hp 1976

It's time for me to put away my boat.
What are the procedures for winterizing my outboard. I live in CT
and fished saltwater. I have flushed the engine in a barrel after every time
out.

I drained the gear oil out and replaced it with fresh gear oil. I ran the engine dry (disconnected the fuel line). Cleaned out the fuel tank. I drained the bowl on the carb.

What else should I do ?

I also noticed that I have some rust on the choke plate what is the best
way to remove it.
