Hello
I'll bet that this has already been covered before, so I apologize but I honestly didn't find these answers anywhere,,,and I looked & searched too.

Anyways, I have two or three things that I'm pretty sure draw water from the lake.
- a shower in the back of the boat w/faucets
- a garden hose
- and my toilet

So my question is, how do I get that pink antifreeze into these things so that they don't freeze & break on me? My toilet I could pour pink into but that doesn't get any into the water feeding into it.

Can someone clue me in, just a little. :)

Thanks for any info!
Sarah ;)

Some people blow out the lines with low pressure air but IMO that may not remove ALL the water. I think the best way is to get yourself a small pump and backflush the systems until the pink stuff comes out the thru-hull. I use a submersible sump pump with a short section of garden hose that I made up with a male fitting on each end.

- and my toilet
First, you SHOULD have a waste holding tank, and it needs to be emptied. I put a little A-F in the tank after emptying just to be safe. The water supply- are you sure it uses water from the lake? If so then you need to find the intake below the waterline and backflush it with A-F.
The key is to make sure there's no water remaining in the lines.

Use the pink A-F:

Toilet-After you have emptied the holding tank and have put more treatment in it, flush a half a bowl of A-F and a cup of head lube/cooking oil. This will keep everything from freezing and your seals soft and your joker valve from sticking.

Shower and drains - Pour A-F down each until it come out the hull drains. Make sure your shower sump kicks on.

Fresh Water - Drain hot water heater and fresh water tank. Take water screen/filter out and open all faucets and let the lines drain. Then put in the filter screen and close the faucets. Add the pink A-F to water tank and pump through system, you will smell it when it comes out and it tastes nasty, though it will not harm you.

Sea **** - Leave open. Nothing needs to be done where the head takes in the lake/sea water. It will drain by gravity.
