Every do it yourself list are listing that the lower gear oil needs changing prior to winter but none are mentionning the upper gear oil on the sterndrive. Does it needs to be changed also or is there no risk involved?
My apologies for the thin details my hands were full of oil at the time and congratulation on your insight, it is an OMC and I should have mentionned it up front. It's matched up with a Barr 3.0 Base marine engine.
Thank you for the information, will change the upper casing oil as well then.
Might want to head up to the adults only sticky at the top of this forum, (or the one below it..... same exact things) and look at the winterization info in it.
