Re: Winterizing your motor
When I Bought my first outboard I babied it,changed the plugs, fogged it out, changed the lower unit grease, sprayed wd40 etc.Being in New England where temps range 25-35+ degrees during the day now I run my motor every 3-4weeks when the temp is above freezing,I run the motor for 20-30 minutes. I spray the power head when I lay the boat up for the winter about the first of November. Change the lower unit grease. Also I difinitly use a stabalizer. And the out board is self draining if you keep it verticle. Now if you want to know one of the right ways to do it go to <br />
www.maxrules.com They have an article for winterizing. Also go to search in iboats, type in winterizing and you will find a dozen topics.
