Wire Clip replacments

My trailer rail is too think for the typical wire clips used to hold the trailer wire that runs along the rails. I can get them started on the rail but when I tap them to snug them up to allow the little grips to contact the rails and hold them in place the clips are then stretched out too wide to hold. I have some of the wire looms that I can use but that requires drilling at each spot along the frame. Rather not do that if there's another solution. I don't know whether the glue on type holders for wire ties will stay on with the constant in an out of water. I can't be the only one with this problem what are you guys going?

use a silicone adhesive to glue on the clips

Adhesive backed wire clips, there are several styles to suit what you need. I would mount them on the horizontal surface, not the vertical surface, clean well before sticking down.

I actually thought about trying something like that. Would you use plain silicone dobbed at intervals down the rail?
That is what I did and they have stayed for 10+ years now.
Clean the horizontal surface of the beam or channel and place a nice bead "bridge" over the wires cross ways..

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned cable ties. They're plastic and will last practically forever. There's plenty of ways to attach them. If nothing else you can go all the way around the beam.

Cable ties would be the best, they sell wire tie stick mounts they can be found in many hardware stores. i use them for Cat 5 wiring and holding computer cords under desks. the stick-on is a fome just like many of the plastic reflectors stick-on backs used on the trailers.

the silicone idea may work just be sure to use the acid free safe for metal. some silicons will cause corrosion if it touces metal.
