I searched the topics and still have to ask a question just to double check. I want to run a wire from battery #2 (deep cycle) to my switch. I'm curious what size I need for the Yamaha 115 to charge battery #2, during switch 1+2 position. This is just to charge #2 when I make a long run from place to place. I was thinking of #6AWG or #4AWG. Run may be 10 ft one way.

As long as you don't try to start your motor with the switch connecting that battery you would be fine. if you want that battery as a backup starting battery, I may wany to run a little larger. Depends on the starting current in that case.

You need the same size wire for your ground as well.

For backup starting, 4AWG isn't big enough?

Probably is. I have no idea how much current an outboard starter draws.

4 gauge is plenty for 115.
