wire identification problem

I recently bought a 1996 evinrude 9.9 model E10RELEUS that was set up with controls, and no tiller. What the owner of the boat and I done was stupid we cut the 8 wires coming out of the motor about 8 inches in front of the motor, later I find out there was a pigtail we had to diconnect. I bought a OMC wiring harness which has a bunch of pigtails on it and do not know which pigtail should go to the 8 wires. I am trying to reach the original owner of the motor to see if I can get the remainder of the wire to the pigtail.<br /><br /> Does anyone out there have any advice or wiring diagrams I can use? <br /> Thanks Joe Calderone
