Wire Insulation

Does anyone know what a good substitute would be to insulate the electric shift coil leads in the lower unit of the sterndrive??? I'm talking about where the wire connections are. ie knife disconnects!

Are you trying to protect the wire or the disconnects?
If you are working on the wire, maybe some shrink tubing about the right size. Slip it on, heat it and it should be good.

If you are concerned about the disconnects, there are other kinds of plug connectors out there that have insulated plastic covers on them.
