Wire location ?

Replaced switch box ,new box has a wire approximately 6” long coming out from it , my question is where does it go, old box did not have one but it was in bad shape so originally it might of had one ?

It’s black . Ground wire? Not getting spark. Compression is 120 both cylinders. Changed flywheel(broken magnets old FW) . Changed switch assembly box ( old one looked really bad). Only thing left is stator and coils , don’t have any idea how to check either .

That is a ground wire put it on one of the mounting screws. Between the block and the switchboard. Clean that surface to shiny clean. I can't ever stress enough get a factory manual and do the tests.
