Good evening all... I have a question about my 1982 Mercury L6 90 hp outboard. The wiring from both the stator and trigger to the switch boxes are extremely worn to the point I feel I should replace them. I know this question is best asked in the mercury forums, but I wanted to get the electricians take on it as well.
The current wiring looks extremely worn, such as stripped back from the ring connectors, cracked sheathing and exposed wiring, etc.. I would like to just replace them. They look about 16 ga and don't look like they are tinned for protection. Anyone have any suggestions or "hell no" remarks to doing a job like this? Don't sugarcoat anything...
