Wiring a volt gauge

A 8 to 18 volt gauge was given to me, and I thought I'd drill a hole and mount it in my CC, since I don't have a volt gauge and I would like to see if the motor is charging the battery while running. On the back are 3 screw studs and one spade connection. The spade is for the light bulb. One screw is marked "S" and is capped off with a plastic sleeve. The other 2 are marked "I" and "G". I assume the "G" is ground and the "I" is ignition? So I find the hot wire at the ignition switch and hook it up there? Electricity is not my forte. Thanks for any help.

Re: Wiring a volt gauge

You hook into any wire that is hot when the key is ON. If you have any other gauges, those gauges have an "I" terminal as well and you can connect there. Otherwise, use the "A" (accessory) terminal on the ignition switch.
