Hey guys,
Quick question. I'm re-wiring my 71EL40 because the guy I bought it from decided he'd like to keep the wiring harness from the motor (a fact I didn't discover until well after the fact)
I have a set of controls from I believe a 70EL77 but am having trouble matching the wiring together. I removed the red plug and left 4 inches of lead on that so I can re-attach it later if needs be and am wiring the motor in 14ga insulated marine wire. Does anyone have an electrical schematic for the control unit I have that they could email to me? I've spent 2 days on it now and am getting thouroughly frustrated. I think I may also have a dead choke and starter solenoid but I'm not certain.

-=-cobcob-=-

Re: Wiring adaption

I don't have anything but my public library has a manual with a schematic, maybe yours does too.
