Wiring in a Stereo Remote

I'm looking at installing a wired remote on my instrument panel so I can control the music while driving. Any thoughts on the best way to run the wires from the starboard to port side (stereo head unit is on the port side inside the glove compartment).

I've thought of running them inside the hull back to the transom under the sundeck and then around and back up to the glove compartment. If I go that route I'll need extension cable as remote only comes with 18 ft. Or maybe there's a way to run them through the ski locker?

On our boat I was able to run the wiring on the underside of the sole. I guess that is an advantage of not having a fully lined hull. If you don't have that option, it might be a shorter distance up and around the bow.
