wiring Questions 87 Four Winns

Try again for response! 1) wiring at rear of boat. I've got (2) wires coming out of one bundle, one is black, 1 is brown. Black goes to gas tank along with a seperate red line, Brown wire is open at a connector. Question 2) 4 wires connected side by side(brown/purple/blue/green) with brown wire open at a eye hole connection. The only thing rea chable from this position would be the Auto blender. Is this supposed to go to Auto blender, or ground out at same? Gas gauge not working. all connections cleaned and secure. Tach's not working. All connections cleaned, secured.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't understand what your trying to explain. Can you post some pictures of the wiring you are refering to?

I'm not really clear on ? either but I'll take a stab at it;

Traditionally, the black wires are ground, brown is alarm or bilge pump

Black goes to gas tank along with a separate red line,

Is it red or pink? Pink would be gas gauge sender

Brown wire is open at a connector. Question 2) 4 wires connected side by side(brown/purple/blue/green)

blue/green is usually up/down trim
Purple is ignition

with brown wire open at a eye hole connection. The only thing reachable from this position would be the Auto blender.

I've been boating for 40 years but, what's an "Auto Blender"?

Do a search for generic gauge wiring, I saw a couple of diagrams on here last week. Make sure you have +, -, and sender wires to the gas gauge and tach
