Wiring Questions

I am looking into re-wiring my boat. I have a 18 foot Bluewater, with an I/O, electric trolling motor, 2 fish finders and a few minor aftermarket accessories. I will leave the stock wiring alone (gauges, ignition switch, blower, etc) except for the nav lights which are either wired wrong or loose (the PO removed the stock lights and added aftermarket).

So my question is this: Should the fish finders and minor aftermarket accessories go to the trolling motor batteries or to the starting motor? I can see pros/cons to both set ups.

Any other advise would be good too! Thanks!

Re: Wiring Questions

Dan...not sure what the minor aftermarket stuff is but from personal experience most fish finders, depth finders and relatively sensitive electronics may suffer being on the starting battery because when you go to start the voltage may drop below the required level for the device, if it does most are protected and they may just power off or may hang or reset but they could also be damaged in someway so I would recommend at least the fish finder goes to one of the trolling batteries (assuming they are 12v)
