Re: Wiring though wakeboard tower

I do already have the 2nd battery-I added it last summer just as a precaution. Did you go with a special marine amp? I have an extra one sitting around the house I could use if I ever wanted to...

Nope, just got a regular one. Where I have it should see no moisture.

Under my passenger side dash -- port side. I mounted it there because of less moisture than the rear and good circulation.

I can't get into the stingray site here. I will try to get you a link to the amp and font speakers later.

Do you have speakers in the front, bow area?

I was able to mount these in front of my side cushions and they match the aerial speakers. http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/db/index.php?s=db461p#db401

Re: Wiring though wakeboard tower

I do have speakers in my bow. I actually have 6 speakers in the boat (she came that way from the original owner). I have 2 in the bow, 2 at the stern, and then 2 under each side of the dash. My head unit only has 4 channel output of course so I have the front speakers and under dash speakers sharing the same output. I guess if I were to get speakers on the tower the amp could power these dash speakers...
I would like to see pics of your speaker/amp install if you can work it out

I have to figure out this pic thing. I try to upload two, but failed. Maybe they are too large.

My head unit puts out like 50 X 4. I got a 200 watt alpine amp, so basically all speakers not get about 50 watts. I did adjust the amp a little so the 4 inch speakers are getting a little less. Its nice an balanced now.

The cool thing about the tower speakers is that your really start to hear them when about 10 feet or more behind the boat in the water. We bring out floats and tie off and just chill (when not towing kids). The are a pretty nice addition.

Re: Wiring though wakeboard tower

You know that's funny, the little speaker you have right next to your amp I have speakers in the same place! They were not even wired up when I bought the boat, I spliced them into the wires going to the bow speakers.
This weekend I was FINALLY able to get those blasted wires run! I removed the bolts going through the tubes in the cross section and that did the trick. Easily sucked the fishing line through when they were not there to get in the way. And then thankfully we had zero issue pulling the wires through the holes as well.

We float around on anchor quite a bit, and we do the same as you-float on tubes behind the boat when just hanging out. I love it! I actually have one of those fancy Magma grill (Craigslist special!) and we will listen to the Jacksonville Jaguars football game on the radio while grilling out on the hook. So your point about the speakers being heard from behind would come in quite handy!

Thanks for sharing your pics!
