I am trying to hook up a trailer light plug to my 1995 isuzu trooper and am having problems... We got the hitch 4 years ago and never put lights on because we live .7 mile from the ramp, in a gated community, to the cops it is pretty much 32 miles of driveway, so we never worried about it. So, my problem is that for the brake light, Theres 2 wires, one gives me running lights, and the other brake only, how should this be hooked up? it is a 4 wire trailer hookup, So... how do i get both running and brake lights off one wire? thanks:)

Do you have orange turn sigs on the towing vehicle?

If YES then you need an adapter to change it from 5 wire on the tow vehicle to 4 wire for the trailer. Then follow wiring for NO answer.

If NO, then the white is ground the brown is tail lights, the green is Left turn and the yellow is right turn. The brakelights take care of them selves and will work when the others are hooked up correctly.
