Wiring ???

Goin to plan B. The 50 hp bit the dust for now so I dug out the 76 Evinrude 40hp. <br /><br /> I have a large red wire that is obviously the hot wire. <br /><br /> The purple wire with the white stripe goes to the choke.<br /><br /> The white wire is for the starter solenoid.<br /><br /> What do the two blue wires go to? One is solid lt blue and the other the same color with a white stripe. <br /><br /> My 50 hp tore up a cylinder and piston when a head gasket blew. Right off the bat I plan on installing a new impellar, head gasket, carb kit, fuel pump diaphram, fuel lines and thermostat. <br /><br /> where is the thermostat located? Theres not a bump on the bottom of the water jacket cover like the 50 hp had. <br /><br /> Anything else I need to replace for preventive maintenance? Any problems I might look out for?This motor was ran two summers ago with no problems. Tonight with fresh fuel and a battery is started right up. Just need to make it dependable. Kinda fearful of melting this one down, there is no Plan C.<br /><br /> Thanks, Gary
