I picked up a Wizard WD-4 and it appears to have a bad coil. I can't find anything online as to where I might be able to get a replacement. I was told it is a Wico Coil and that's about all I know. I've also been told that many of the parts to the Wizard WD-4 are interchangeable with a Merc KD-4. Any help as to where I can obtain one to get this motor running would be appreciated!

Welcome aboard for your 1946 motor, I would look at AOMCI first, then sites like vintage outboards and oldmercs. there are a bunch of other old outboard sites that have info as well. if you google wizard WD-4, there are even wizard specific forums (links below)

The mag plate or flywheel will say the maker on it. Wico, Bendix-Scintilla, and Phelon all supplied magnetos for the Mercury 2-cylinders. A quick search on eBay shows several Wico coils, one of which may work for you.
