I recently disassembled all 3 of my WMK-9 carbs on my 1972 merc 1400 for cleaning and a rebuild. Attached is an exploded view I found on the internet. The carb in the picture is not identical to mine, but very, very similar. The main difference is that my idle tube (#22) goes in on an angle, not straight down like it does in the attached exploded view.
Anyway, parts #23 and #32 are not present in any of my 3 carbs. All else is there except for these 2 gaskets. it is possible I lost these 2 gaskets on all 3 of carbs, but not likely. Can anyone experienced with these old carbs tell me if I need these gaskets or were my carbs built from the factory without them?
