Woke up at 4AM with a desire to draw a green train...............

Yeah, I know, sounds crazy but that's what happened. So I did. Found some sketches online of trains and made this one in Adobe Illustrator.



That took several hours, but when I was done it just didn't seem like enough. It need to be setting at a RR Crossing, so I found a photo of a real crossing.



Ok, with some help from Photoshop, I got the train in there but it just looked lonely. Needed someone waiting on the train to pass, and of course an engineer. Found them in google images.



So put them all together, and here is what I came up with in the end this evening. Now,,,,,,,,,,, maybe I will sleep a little later in the morning, my eyes hurt.

You can tell that you are retired when you wake up at 4am and start drawing trains.

Looks good Don.

But.... Shouldn't the Road Runner be on the other side of the train, trying to escape from Wile E Coyote,,, while Wile E gets run over by the train. (It kind of looks like they are just chillin', waiting for Taz to drop off some snacks or sumthin )

I don't know, maybe this is the more politically correct version of the Road Runner cartoons

LOL...I like your style Don! I saw a little girl doing a cartwheel on the drive home from work the other day and she looked like she was having a blast...so I decided to do a cartwheel, if anything to see if I could still do a cart wheel...it was fun...and I think I slept a little better that night!

I like the concept...everyone is in such a hurry these days, but there is no exception to a train crossing, even the road runner needs to stop and wait... meep meeep

How did you draw the train Don? I know you like to work in Photoshop, but the train drawing looks vector.

Adobe Illustrator. Been trying to learn it to, lot of things it can do that Photoshop can't. That train is one of them.
Tried using gradients, and that just didn't work right at all. Did some studing (lynda.com) and got them to working. Really easy when it finally hits you.



Even put my new train in the other picture.

Ahhh, that explains it. Need to lay off the chili before bedtime and you need a girlfriend................ bad!!!!

Maybe the bedtime Chili is also to blame for the lack of girlfriend?


Nice train Don, although I noticed it doesn't have any mirrors... What if another train were to try to pass Taz?
