Cleaned the idle jets for the first time since I have had the boat(6 years) and now it won't idle right, it will idle for a couple seconds then misfire then idle misfire.

Will only idle with timing after TDC as in +2-3 degrees, if you get timing at TDC or anything before it runs really fast

Got it really close and went fishing, ran fine all night then got back to the ramp kicked it into nuetral and the engine ran away, like running really fast with key off, choked it dead before I hurt anything.

Cleaned the carbs 3 times with compressed air, all 3 sets of jets and all passages but I still have idle chuf idle chuf.

I am going fishing with my wife tommoro so I don't want to do anything to drastic till after that but any ideas are appriciated, I have tried everything I can think of.

Runs great everywhere else, picked up 2-3mph consistently.

Oh, this is with the throttle cam set where it should be( bottom line centered on shaft) and linkage disconnected so just the idle is being adjusted.

this is setting the high speed, the low speed will take care of itself.

When the engine runs away like that, it is often caused by red hot carbon in the firing chambers continuing to fire the remaining fuel, which causes the engine to cycle and pull more fuel and so on. You might want to consider a thorough decarbon treatment at this time.

Using additives like BRP Carbon Guard will help to keep the engine cleaner after the recommended annual decarb.
