Won't pump water 1983 Merc 50 hp

I put a new water pump in. Made sure all lines were clear still will not pump water. Took lower unit back off checked lines again and flushed. It pees easy with garden hose also blew air through it put it back together still no peeing. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or do I need to replace a gasket or something everything looked good

Have you looked down through the water pump tube hole and turned the drive shaft to see if the impeller is moving, some times the key will pop out of place.

No I haven't I will try to do that today. When I took it apart the second time it looked like it had been moving when I ran it for 30 to 40 seconds. You could see where it had been spinning inside the housing of course I had it lubricated very well and then I re lubricated the housing again before putting it back together the second time. Thanks for the reply I will try to check that today if I get time to pull it back apart. One good thing is I am getting faster at taking it apart and putting it back together.

The only other thing is the water pump tube is not in the right place.
