(I checked) The overheat buzzer went off running it on the hose...there is no water coming out of the 2 small holes in the back of the mid section houseing, just smoke....smells like exhaust. What the heck is going on? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Stuart

Drop the lower unit and double check that the water tube is seated in the base of the powerhead, and that it connects to the waterpump when you install the lower unit.

While you have the unit off, hold a water hose up to the water tube to make sure it is not obsrtucted.

Check inside the motor leg, were you see your 2 exhaust holes, well behind it is a rubber boot(inside) make sure that is good mine went out and caused problems with exhaust killing the motor. Since Force put the water inlets in a weird spot make sure your muffs are on tight, I use a rubbers bungies to keep my muffs on tight.

Hint- get a bag that fits ove the lower unit. A thick garbage bag actually works too. Bugiecord it ove the motor and be sure your motor is flat. Fill it with water to the bottom of the anti-vent plate. Start it up. Works for me unless I goof and put it in gear then the prop rips the bag quick. Shut it down fast!!!!

Also you can rout the bag behind the ehaust snout and you will not get hot water/exhaust in the bag.

Be very careful as the bag can break and you want to shut it off fast when that happens. I suggest idle and a bit above but not to fast.

Force engines do have a strange spot for the inlets.
I had an '88 125hp for 15 years. I never had much luck with the rabbit ears when flushing; Instead I used a large recyling bin that I placed under the motor, I notched out the back of the tub for the exhauset snout.

It worked great, but u need to run in neutral
A prop spinning will destory the tub; ( I know :)

Thanks for all the sugestions, I am farmiliar with evinrude and mercury but force has proved to be a new animal for me. I bought the rabbit ears spacifically designed for force engines and have had very little luck getting sufficient water to the head. So I took dpfundst's advice and I now use a trash can filled with water now I know that I have good water. I also installed a tell tale, I feel much better now that I can see it. Thats just me! Thanks again for all the advice you all have been a huge help! Stuart

Solved the problem, when I put the lower back together the impeller key fell out. 1 new impeller and roll pin later life is good. Thanks
