Wondering of anyone can help.

I was ridding and all of a sudden, the engine STOPS and can not be restarted.

Things i've tried:

Checked the gas for any water - found none.
checked carburator to see if gas was getting in there, and its ok.
Checked to see if there was spark at each spark plug, and its ok.

Not sure about strength of spark produced but there is a spark.

While tring to start engine, gas overflows in the carburator.

I've included a picture of my carburator and the gas shoots out from where RED arrow points.

Any help will be appreciated, Thanks.

Re: Wont Start

The needle valve is stuck open allowing the engine to flood. You might get to the dock by tapping on the float bowl area with a screwdrive handle. (Nothing bigger) and you might get it started. But you need to have the carb rebuilt.

Thanks for your response, we were towed in and are at own dock trying to troubleshoot our problem.

When I move the throtle down you can see the throtle shutter inside the carb moves and gas is injected into the chambers, then it comes out from the area indicated in the picture.

That part is normal

then it comes out from the area indicated in the picture.

That part is not normal........ Rebuild the carb.

Re: Wont Start

have you been replacing the fuel filters with each carb rebuild? and have they been replacing the float when it is rebuilt? if you haven't been replacing the fuel filters trash will cause the needle and seat not to seal. if they havent been replacing the float it could be sinking
