Won't stay started

I have a 75hp oil injected mercury. When I start it, it will stay started for 3-8 seconds then shut down. If I open the throttles without engaging the prop it stays started longer...up to 15 seconds and then shuts down. Any assistance would be helpful. Thank you.

Sounds like it is starving for fuel. Check that the tank is venting, no kinks in the fuel line, filter is not blocked, fuel pump is OK. Maybe a float level problem - needle valve stuck?

Yep, if it runs for a little while then stalls, does this repeatedly... My bet is also on fuel starvation..
