wood floor replacement

I am replaing the floor in a 18 starcraft center console Alluminum boat.

Should i use marine plywood or treated

Do i coat with anything. going to put marine carpet in it

I've used 1/2" exterior grade but I covered both sides with Polyurethane.

Your support spacing determines whether, or not, 1/2" is suitable. Otherwise, go with 5/8". 3/4" is too heavy.

You should NOT use treated ply, the chems. in the ply will react to the aluminum and cause corrosion. Plus you have to let trtd. dry out b4 you can seal it. This can take several days and the ply tends to warp....alot!
Marine is best in my opinion if you can afford the extra $ it's worth it.
Seal everything!! I'm replacing my deck now. I'm going to seal all in epoxy/glass. My hull is FG. not Alum.
