Hi all,
I'm working on restoring a 1971 SeaKing fiber glass 15 footer. I currently working on the port and starboard side walls. I have access to a lot of free oriented stranded boards (OSB) use for home construction. My plan is to put carpeting or vinyl on the OSB. What can I do to water proof the board? Will this be bad idea? If I use plywood, do I need to water proof it? If so, how.

Thanks.

Re: wood on boat

I would stay away from OSB. It loves to soak up water like a sponge. If thats not bad enough it will also swell up, and by expanding could cause something to "blow out" and cause more problems and repairs. Stick with plywood and seal it with epoxy.
