Hi folks,
On the floor in the stern of my project Invader, just in front of the transom, there was this wood rack.. I'm sure there's a boat term for it, but I don't know it.
A photo is attached.
Anyway, the fuel tank clamps to it and the battery sat there, along with the anchor, kitchen sink, beer cooler and whatever other junk needed to go in the "trunk". I've removed it for the refurb, but I'm wondering exactly what I need or can do to it. It appears to be cedar or some sort of water resistant wood, as it appears to have no rot and could quite possibly be original. I'm thinking of possibly power washing or giving it a good once over with a brush and some TSP or other cleaner. But what then? Should I finish with some poly or maybe deck stain? It really isn't in bad shape, just dirty and gray. Thanks!
Dave
