Wood trim question

I'd like to change the rather tired looking mouldings on my boat. They are theones that are used to trim the cabinets and such. Are there any concerns about what type of wood or plastic that I may replace them with as this is a marine application? If I use wood, I am planning to poly urethane them.<br />Thanks in advance.

Re: Wood trim question

Griffin, I'm guessing that these are all for the interior of a boat. If that's correct, you don't have to be overly concerned with what you use. Go to Home Depot, buy whatever you'd like, and go ahead and use poly on them. If it's for outdoor use, you need to use a product on them that is waterproof first, and UV resistant second. The actual trim still won't matter if you're going to treat it correctly.

yeah, very true.. but i'd still use a MARINE poly .. just cause it's not a climate controled interior ..
