Re: World Record Striper

They stocked saltwater stripers into a number of inland lakes in Tennessee 25 years ago. At Percy Priest Lake in Nashville, they had people on both sides of the river getting their lines hooked together--trying to catch 45-50 lb. fish. The Metro Police had to walk a beat below the dam to stop the fishermen from fighting--and shooting at each other. No kidding!

My father retired from his job to get up at 4:30 a.m., and go out there trying to catch the big ones. Those big stripers would suck his 8" lure in and spit it out. He called it Striper Fever. Later, he moved and built our lake house where he got into running three trotlines--Catfish Fever.
