Worldwide warranty ?

Can somebody tell me the warranty on Evinrude ( e tec ) or mercury ( optimax ) is worldwide ?<br /><br />I would buy an outboard in the US and have it shipped to me.<br />But I am looking what manufacturer has worldwide warranty....<br /><br /><br />Thanks in advance,<br />stef

Your problem could be to get it to a dealer for service right?

I have a dealer here that will service it but the problem will be if something will have to be replaced under warranty. ( hopefully I will never need to but.. )<br /><br />If the manufacturer has worldwide warranty i am safe. I know some of them only have domestic warranty...<br /><br />somebody that can tell me 100% which ones are worldwide ??<br /><br />Thanks<br />stef

I would contact the manufacturers directly and ask for a written copy of their warranty.

What Roscoe says.<br /><br />This forum is all about guys who buy and run motors. It's not about firms who make them. Best go to the guys who make them and ask them direct. Then - either way - you'll have an answer you know is accurate.
