The big selling point about a boat would be if it was turn-key. As in, is it in good enough condition that a buyer could take it out on the lake immediately without having to make repairs. If you could honestly say that, and maybe had some recent pictures included in your ad of the boat in action, you could maybe get closer to $800. If it needs some work what you can could for it varies quite a bit. Sadly, if it needs a lot of work jddenham's $152 isn't far off :( The hull by itself is worth very little.

please don't double post. did you read the rules, when you joined? people will see you do it and ignore you, as it waste there time. my answer is in the other post, personally i deal in restorations, and would not offer more than $250. without a test run.

I have the same motor:

www.james.denham.com/14boat.html

I have done a little research and found that the 30HP was made in 1956 only:

http://www.james.denham.com/javelin.html

I found that I could do the water pump, carb rebuild, and ignition tune up for around $100. I was thinking of doing this, painting it red and putting it on ebay.

If you had appropriate paint on the motor, and advertised a fresh tune up with maybe a video of the motor in action, you might get $400 - 800.

An original motor like the one on my web page would go for $1000 - 1500 on ebay to the right buyer.

Let us know what transpires . . . .

James
