wot on a 3.0GLP-D 2006

Can anyone tell me the wot on a 2006 Volvo Penta 3.0GLP-D.The owners manual states 4200-4600.I am not sure if this is the wot or cruising range they are talking about.<br />any help would be apreciated.<br />Thanks Kootcan

Welcome to Iboats! I would guess that would be your WOT range..Depends on the boat,prop,ect.<br />What is it turning now?

the rpm you mentioned is the recommended maximum achievable rpm with a normal load, normal being whatever you would normally have on the boat. try and keep it as close to the upper part of this window.<br />cruise will be around 75% or whatever you are comfortable with.

Kootcan - you answered your own question - "The owner's manual states 4200-4600.". As Ben has indicated, this is the WOT given normal load, standard propping for your motor, standard atmospheric conditions (at sea level), etc.<br /><br />To respond to your question regarding cruise performance, your generally accepted cruise RPM will be about 3000-3300 RPM, depending, again, upon your particular boat and operating conditions up there in Alberta. Keep in mind that that cruise range will NOT result in 75% of the speed at WOT, but more like ~20 mph.

Thanks for the info guys.I used to own for 5 years a 1987 110 hp Evinrude 2 stroke out board and the wot on this engine was 5600 I thought that this 3.0 would be roughly the same wot .not used to such a low wot.<br />great sight have been reading for weeks till all hours of the night..Lots of great information.<br />thanks.
