I've been having multiple fuel system difficulties with my '86 Evinrude 140. I replaced one of the four carbs (the tube between the float bowl and barrel was melting) and things seemed to get better, however, my most recent outing saw the motor stalling often during acceleration.

Prior to this outing I wasn't sure if the VRO was working, so I added oil directly to the gas tank at 50:1. The oil level in the VRO oil tank did reduce, so it seems to be working, but now I'm wondering if all the extra oil could have contributed to my stalling problem.

I'll top off the gas tank to reduce the oil ratio before my next outing, but am wondering if I should still be looking for another source for the stalling problem.

Thanks in advance.
