Would a 1962 lower unit fit a 1960?

As I understand it a lot of the johnson part are interchangeable. To make sure I thought I'ld ask the experts.

Would a 1962 40 hp shortshaft lower unit fit a 1960 40 hp (rds-22)? Both are manual shift.

I can't think of any reason why it won't.
