Hey I have a 94 four winns fling that had a 115 hp motor in it. I was wondering what the difference on the 110 is I found this one
crossflow - serial: # r 08211046, model: j110tlcem
and was wondering if it would bolt right up and the shafts would be the same ect. Thanks

Do you know the info on the motor that you haven't provided a model number for?

They will probably swap just fine, but we need the info to be sure.

94 115 has the same crankcase, as 89 110, but the crankshafts have different #s. but that does not mean the splines are different.

Everything will work except that you need to move the special parts over from the Turbojet engine that are specific to inboard use for safety reasons. The primer pump, fuel pump, and the by-pass cover with the pulse fitting on it need to be added to the replacement engine.
The adapter gasket is different for the Turbojet, so you will need a new one that is not in the regular engine gasket kit.

I would probably swap the intake manifold and carburetors as well if it were mine.

The crossflow 115 from 1978 (115893c) won't work. The crossflow 115 block from 1979 and up will work. You don't want carburetors with choke plates either, so look for 1980 and up.

The j90tlcdc block has smaller ports and different exhaust; It's too weak for your application. Look for 110, 115, 140 crossflow 1979 and up.

Lol Im trying just no ones getting rid of them in a broke college students price range that I can at least rebuild. Mine the water jacket is coming off around one of the sleeves and I dont think I can fix that problem. About a pinkies, well skinny pinkie finger, width between the sleeve and the water jacket. You guys think maybe it could just be welded but into place after I get it resleeved?

well motorhead, Id have to agree with Jay...in the initial post you provided no info other than HP for the 115 hp outboard??

was the forum supposed to just guess it is the same year as the boat??

seldom with boats and motors 20 years old do the boat and motor still match.

good luck, funny I just got a lesson at my mechanics place on the difference between a crossflow and a looper.

He has an Ocean Pro 115 evinrude that looked just like my 90 Ocean Pro...and i asked about the difference....his answe was mostly carbs, but the 115 really put out about 105-110 hp max and the 90 hp put out about 100 hp!!!

I wonder what a 110 puts out and why they get so much more money for the higher HP if it is only a different carb( which cost about the same as the lower HP carbs I would bet!!)

good luck

The Four Winns Fling is a TurboJet powered inboard that was made between 1994 and 1998. The stock 1994 engine is a 1994 115HP crossflow that would be the rough equivalent of a 1979 stock 140HP crossflow. The short blocks will match.

Dang people keep advertising these motors at newer thats why I keep checking. Guy said it was an 82 140 hp.

Re: Would this motor work in place of a 115?

Eh, the water jacket housing around one of the cylinder sleeves has come away from it leaving the casting cracked and breaking. Its pulled away by about an inch, sorry im not any were near it atm so I cant give an exact measurment. I talked to some people on getting it welded but yea. What happened was the thermostat for that side frooze shut, and it got hot on the one side. Since the VRO pump had gone out before I bought it, the guy had removed the alarm which i was not aware of. Then my brothers were out on it one afternoon and it started running like crap, one side of the engine, so pulled the head off and the gasket was smoked, looked closer and it was bad. So I pulled the motor and found it to be like it is. Im trying to get someone to email me some pics from home. Ill post em. But then Im also worried about the cylinder because I know the bottoms tend to burn at the port areas. But since its pop Aluminum I doubt that any weld would hold, plus it might warp the sleeve, which does not seem to be at the moment. I have to get my mic out yet.

Doesn't sound like anything the JB Weld wouldn't fix! :D It's true, I read it on the package!
