I have a 76 reinell that I newly aquired and was considering a tower but the price is out of reach for the moment. All I really want is a way to keep the rope out of the water for boarding and tubing. I was thinking I could take a 3' chunk of pipe and mount it just infront of the engine bay area with 2 support pieces that attach strait to the transom. I have a modest set of skills so I am confident I could make it plenty strong I was just wanting to make sure the transom would be fine with the additional stress. I would make it just tall enough to clear the motor.
