Looks like my boats twin lol...check my posts to see..
70 lund tri hull
72 25hp johnny.....i paid 200 for boat, motor, and trailer.

Bring your spark tester, compression gauge, and some tools...

if everything checks out, game on imho....

Walk away if he gets defensive if you start breaking the tools out.

I'd go there, but like garzilla said, take tools & be cautious. If the motor aint locked up & he dont run from the compression guage, I'd pay that for it, as long as you can hook up & tow it away without a welder or wheel bearings.

Replace wheel with stick. Eliminates the need for a console. Typically seen on boats like this:

Damn, i think a tiller is kind of sketchy.....that's insane!

I bet you could engineer something on the cheap with some pulleys and some cable.

After living in the Texoma area before moving back to Minnesota I would have to mention that the general area down there consists of the Red River and Lake Texoma for boating.

Remember that the red is laden heavily with red clay and Texoma is full of rocks, just some things to consider about the environment it could have been used in.

I agree, the stick steering and the trailer are worth it alone (if the wheels turn). The 40 is electric shift. If you have a problem with the LU, parts will be hard and expensive to find. 40's in general are a dime a dozen up this way for parts though. If it was me, I'd buy it. But I love buying old boats... Got a driveway full of em...

My boat currently has or well had stick steer before it took a dump, I'm looking at this as a replacement but the guy hasn't gotten back to me. He may have already sold it but at any rate I thought it sounded and looked good and I will def be taking some testing tools with me if he ever calls me back to come look at it.
