I bought a hammer and a set of drill bits at Sears the other day, both say Made in the USA. Good for Sears.

Seems to me all of Sears hand tools are made in America. Its some kind of Corporate mandate thing with them. At least thats what I heard from one of their tool manufactures here in the good ol'e USofA.

I think all Craftsman tools are made in USA. Their cheaper non-Craftsman tools may be made elsewhere.

Hey..... I was made in the USA.....but I am not stamped anywhere:D I am of the opinion that Craftsman has gone down over the years.... the ratchets are no where near as good as the old ones....... I broke a craftsman ratchet and I went to replace it or order a rebuild kit for it and found out it was no longer made..... the newer ones are not as good.

I HEARD many years ago that craftsman is a japanese tool, just higher quality than what were used to see coming from japan. I mostly buy snap on and S.K. sears sells S.K. now but they will not warranty them, even the ones they sell.

comeon now,you have to go to walmart or kmart sometime,or want a cadillac? cadillac is building a plant in china, ship the cars there to be assembled and ship back to sell. ford owns 33% of mazda, and I think GM owns some or all of izuzu,I hear burger king is buying thier beef from new Zealand, auto parts are not made here, even if you buy from the dealer.the only thing made here is minimum wage jobs, and pretty soon you will need 4 years of college to get one.

Kmart and sears are the same now. And I almost would half to agree with the 4 years of college to get a minimum wage job :D. Could you picture a college coarse on flipping a burger lol.

I bought a Coleman generator used at a yard sale (thought I was getting a good buy), when I looked at the top of the gas tank said made in America. Guess what the engine is? Kawasaki. Unfortunately the American made part of it doesn't work and the china made part is running well go figure.... Thought about putting that generator under non boating technical questions.

It's very depressing to me that brand names just don't mean anything anymore. You used to be able to buy something with a certain brand and feel good, 'ell even proud about it. Now it's just not the case. Take lawn mowers for example. Troy-Bilt, John Deere, Husky, etc... It's all the same damn mower with a different body on it. That's just one example. Give me something to believe in again.

I second that, thats also true with heavy equipment now too, case tractors & dozers, are being built overseas.. Im sure theres more brands going overseas too..
