You know how sometimes the new Windows operating system pops up this little box that says an error occurred and it must close such and such application; then another little box pops up and asks if you want to send an error report to Micro Soft? Well, that happened to me today (like most days) and I sent off the error report. In the next box that has the "close" button on it, there was a link to MicrSoft for a fix to the problem. Well, I didn't have a clue what the problem could be, but a fix to a problem I didn't I have sounded interesting, so I clicked the link. (Do you realize that someone in 1988, reading what I just typed, would have no ideal what the heck I'm talking about?)

Anyhoo, I go this MicroSoft page and there is new anti-virus thing called Windows OneCare, and it wants to scan my machine, like the Microtrend thing. I figure I'm clean because I use Norton with updates, MicroSoft Securtiy w/ updates, Adaware, Spybot, all that stuff. So anyway, I click to scan and it goes and goes for over an hour (I did the "Full System Scan") and come to find out it detected 4 viruses in 6 files! How about that? When it was all done it asked if I wanted to install it and I was like, totally, ya know? Well, in the install process it says I gotta uninstall Norton. I did and installed the new thing from MicroSoft, but then i got to thinking, wouldn't that be a slick sales pitch? "Hey dude, found these here viruses and worms and whatnot in here, stuff that got by Norton......wanna try me out?" Ok, sure! "Well, you goota ditch the Norton first because we can't run the same machine." So Norton is gone, and the MicroSoft thing is a beta, so the one you pay for isn't out yet. Makes even more sense.

Anyway, I thought it was odd that I had this stuff wrong with my machine. Maybe now I can install that Sierra Program. Anybody else hear about this Windows OneCare?
