I saw this story this morning on our news.

Yes, sometimes through circumstances of their own making, it may have put them there, but have some compassion, your handout (a dollar, a restaurant gift card, donated clothes) is your good deed, and is between you and God, or your conscious, what he/she does with it is their business.

Please remember this story the next time you see someone on the street.

Our church works for the homeless and needy families and you will not believe some of the hard luck stories.

I read about this guy in the Morgan Freeman thread but what made me happy is that this man was big enough to admit his own trials in life which is why I am happy for him, he didn't blame anyone other then himself for what happened in his life, humility can be a mans saving grace, I pray for this mans continued recovery from alcohol and drugs.

He was featured in CBS' Early Show this morning. Was definitely neat to see him tear up as he talked about going to NY to visit his 92 year old mother who he hadn't seen in years. He is looking forward to getting his own place and becoming a "respectable tax paying citizen." Gotta hand it to him, he is not looking for a hand out, only a hand up. He is in my thoughts and prayers ... Good Luck Ted Williams!

Just read an update...from rags to riches!

"The Cleveland Cavaliers just offered me a full-time job and a house," Williams revealed. The Cavs will reportedly have to compete against MTV, the NFL and likely countless more suitors for Williams' services.
