First off, many thanks to Roscoe and Eurolarva. Their experience and advice is apreciated and respected.

Per their general advisements throughout this forum I replaced the fuel pump diaphram and decarbed the engines. "While I was at it" I also got some 3/8" neoprene off Ebay and glued it to the inside of top cover and re-synched the carb linkage.

The Net result is incredible. Both engines cold-crank on the first spark. They haven't done that since last century. They also seem to be more responsive and have a little more kick getting out of the hole. Decarbing was so easy and I never would have done it without the advice offerred on this forum. Thanks guys.

The neoprene dropped the noise significantly. I just glued it all over the inside of top cover. It's now possible to carry on a conversation with both motors running.

Wow. what a difference. It runs like new and it's quieter than new. Roscoe and Eurolave were spot-on. thanks for all your advice.
