write-up to change the impeller??

i tried to find a decent thread about changing the impeller/water pump on my 66' johnson seahorse but i got nothing. does anyone know if there is a thread out there that could help me? or can anyone just give me a step by step of what to do? and finally, once the engine starts running, should water imediatly start coming out, or will it take a few seconds.
...thanks is advance, the motor that will "never run again" is now running so im almost there!!

look on you-tube. theres a ton of them, may not be for your exact motor but close.

You might want to think about getting a factory manual, great investment.

My neighbours 64 Big twin 40 takes around 3or 4 seconds after startup to start pumping.
