Went to my local marine shop to buy a gallon, only had it in bulk they said..

went it to shop while they were filling my jug and noticed that there barrel said xd-50 and Mercury DI on it....

Checked color out when they handed me the jug and noticed that it was clear oil, is that the color now??? Clear??

Not to sure and they billed me for Mercury DI.....

Re: Xd-50

XD-50 is a bluish shade of color and XD-100 synthetic is an amber or light brown color.

I do not know what color Merc DI oil is.

To be sure, call BRP customer service at 1-262-884-5993 and ask them.

XD30 is red. XD50 is blue. XD100 is straw colored. Never seen a clear oil. Are you sure it is clear and not straw colored?

D.I. oil is always blue in the case of BRP or greenish in the case of Mercury. Same specs.

Re: Xd-50

Hopefully, it's not a barrel of DI fuel from Merc. Their optimax oil is a special oil-formulated for their engines only. If you read the back of the Merc Optimax oil containers, it clearly states that the oil is NOT TCW-III rated. I certainly would not be running it in any engine other than a Merc Optimax engine.
