Sorry newtoboat101 . Can't help you here. I just chased your p/n's and came up with my reply. 3 bolt vs. 4 bolt? There are far better sages on this forum than me. Wait for one of them to reply. Good luck.

Model, year and serial number of what you're working on wouldn't go astray.

Thanks.

The numbers stamped/cast into parts are just the casting number, and often bare little or no relevance to actual part numbers used in the spare parts system. Without the spare part number, it's difficult to compare apples with oranges...

Now, given 1988 5.0LX, the spare parts part number for the exhaust pipe is -44266T1, which supersedes to 8M0115149. The closest I can get to anything with 815786 is -8157861, which is NLA (No Longer Available), and I have failed to find anywhere it's used. So the answer is, 'I have :noidea:' The only way you could find out it to ask whoever is selling it to identify what it's come off.

just got back home ,here's my recent pictures, this is what I currently have ,if you read the description on the nlamarine website for 815786 y pipe is says it would fit 44266 y pipe my current pipe is 4 inch 44265-c so one has to assume that it should be a match ,correct

Your old pipe which is the newer design only used 3 bolts to hold in place. So the newer pipe you found should fit. You can measure or take the old pipe with to match up to the one your looking at
