Well its all together and it works perfect. SuzukiChopper if you will send me youre e-mail I will send you pics. One thing though. On the bottom of the leg there is a boss that a nut and bolt goes through. It has a strap that goes around the swivel bracket. You wont use the strap on the later swivel bracket but you must grind the boss down or the motor won't be able to go stop to stop when turning. The boss will hit the swivel bracket before the motor reaches the steering stop. I figured that one out after I had it all assembled and had to take the leg back off of the swivel bracket so that I had room to grind the boss down. I can't wait to try it out and see how much difference T&T makes on the performance.

Russ In Texas

Don't know how to post pics on this site. Here are the URLs to my album on picturetrail. See if this works.

http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL461/3259415/6668072/85912686.jpg

http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL461/3259415/6668072/85912667.jpg

The green actually matches better than the picture shows, however it is easy to tell in the pics what parts I replaced.

Russ In Texas

P.S. Somebody please let me know if you can view the pics. Thanks

http://pic13.picturetrail.com/VOL461/3259415/6668072/85912646.jpg

Re: Yahoo..72 100HP Johnnie has T&T

Jerymn, I used the steering stem (Mount) from a 74 or 75 that had the old style T&T because I was worried about clearance between the lower "Horseshoe" and the transom bracket. Notice how the Horseshoe has a cut away portion right at the front where it touches the swivel bracket. After getting it all together, I think either one would have worked. I do like the later steering stem because the diameter of the stem is abit larger and it looks stronger to me. I think any stem from a V4 from 73 to about 78 would work. Pay attention to the lower motor mount, Thats what changed after 78 or so. The swivel bracket, transom mount and T&T came off of an 85 or 86 model V4 Johnnie. What you are basically doing is adapting your steering stem to the later model swivel bracket and transom mount. That allows you to use the later model T&T. I wish I would have taken before and after pics and it would have made it alot easier.

Russ In Texas

Oh by the way being able to now set the motor up correctly and use the T&T increased the top speed on the CV-16 from about 48mph (GPS) to 54mph (GPS). Was it worth the $300 or so and the effort, I have to say yes definately. Plus at the end of the day it sure is nice to "hit the switch" and watch the motor tilt up as opposed to being back there tugging on it.

Russ In Texas
