Hello, I have a 2005 F 40 with very low hours, under 50. First time starting it won't crank or cranks very slowly. After it has been started it cranks well.
I can usually get it started by jumping the solenoid with a pair of pliers. Sometimes it needs 15 minutes on a battery charger.
Replacing the solenoid did not fix the problem. Replacing the battery did not either. The battery cables are new.
Do the starters have serviceable brushes? Any other ideas?
Thanks!
