Yes, I did a search = did not find anything definitive.

I have a 1995 Yamaha 115 - carbed - oil injected. While running with the family yesterday - I noticed a change in the engine pitch - looked back and saw blue smoke coming out of the exhaust so shut it off.

Then noticed 2 stroke oil coming out of the intake when I pulled the cover off the engine and seeping around the cowling. Quite a bit!

So got a tow back to the lift - cleaned the area up with some simple green - Took off the intake and didn't notice anything - there was a hose off the bottom of the plastic intake which I returned - but that might have been from when I pulled it off.

I tried starting again and killed ALLOT of Mosquitoes SO shut it down quickly.

I'm guessing maybe it's the oil injection pump or maybe my carbs need to be rebuilt?

Anything from the braintrust?

BTW - the on the engine tank is only up to the hash mark - not all the way to the top.

Anybody have an idea how I can slow the amount of oil being injected?

Check to see if the oil control arm is still connected. If gets disconnected somehow it will go full open and smoke like crazy.

Hi Guys
I have two 150 hp 1998 saltwater carb'd engines on my boat
With the covers off for normal maintenance I bumped one of the levers on the oil pump and it fell out of the clevis. On each engine the clevis was cracked and rod ready to fall out. Replaced clevis and all ok. Not sure if everyone had this problem or just me.

Thanks I will check that - they are levers? I'll look.

I meant the connecting rod from the carb to the oil pump. The rod end clevis on the pump seemed to crack over time- both engines did it and the rod simply falls out
good luck

Well the rod is still on - The plastic connector on the carb end is cracked - but it is still firmly in place.

I am holding my breath - have someone coming to look at it on Monday - I know porsche engines but I'm a little clueless on 2 stroke outboards. I guess we will see. Probably should have checked compression -
