Thinking about buying a 1987 Yamaha 115. Does anyone know the weight of the motor? also, I have a 1983 Duracraft(aluminum), 18 foot, 60 inches across the bottom. Think it's enough boat to hold that motor? thanks alot

Re: Yamaha 115 question

Model 1987 115ETLH
Horsepower 115
Dry Weight (kg) 152 (lbs) 342
Starting System Electric

Your Duracraft should have a capacity plate which will tell you the maximum horsepower and motor weight for the vessel. If not, then have a look at the link below. If this is the same or similar boat as yours then you can see the answer in the pictures.

Re: Yamaha 115 question

If the 87 YAMAHA has been anywhere close to salt water, pass on it. If you ever have to turn a wrench on it, you will get quite a lot of experience with broken bolt, broken drill bit and easy outs. Older MERCS and OMCs seem to have better grade hardware. FRED
